Customization process of flashlight molding

1. Requirement communication and scheme confirmation

✅ The customer provides product design drawings (2D/3D drawings) or samples, and specifies specific requirements (materials, dimensions, tolerances, production processes, etc.).

✅ Our engineering team analyzes the product structure, evaluates feasibility, and proposes optimization suggestions.

✅ Determine the type of mold, number of cavities, mold lifespan, and production method (injection molding, die casting, etc.).

2. Mold design and review

✅ Use CAD/CAM/CAE software for mold 3D modeling and structural design.

✅ Perform Mold Flow Analysis to optimize gate, cooling system, and exhaust design to ensure molding quality.

✅ Confirm the final design proposal with the client, adjust details, and proceed with approval.

3. Mold processing and manufacturing

✅ Select high-quality mold steel (such as P20, H13, S136, etc.) to ensure the durability of the mold.

✅ Using CNC precision machining, EDM spark machine, slow wire cutting and other processes for mold processing.

✅ Perform component assembly, polishing, and surface treatment to ensure mold accuracy.

4. Mold trial and adjustment

✅ First trial (T1), produce samples and conduct testing.

✅ Detect product dimensions, tolerances, appearance quality, and evaluate for shrinkage, bubbles, deformation, and other issues.

✅ Optimize and adjust the mold based on the trial results (T2/T3...) until it meets the customer's requirements.

5. Mold confirmation and delivery

Once the mold is complete, I do a mold test. It usually takes about 3-5 days to complete. We need to assemble the mold, adjust the pressure data of the machine, and try production. We need to check whether there are problems during the normal production of the mold and make modifications.
