(1) Preliminary design and planning

In the manufacturing process of injection molds for food grade freshness boxes, preliminary design and planning are crucial first steps. This stage mainly includes product design and mold design based on customer needs, and using professional software for simulation analysis to optimize the design scheme.

Customer needs are the starting point of design. Manufacturers engage in in-depth communication with customers to understand their specific requirements for the shape, size, capacity, functionality, and other aspects of freshness boxes. According to the requirements, the designer uses professional design software to conduct 3D modeling of the product. During the modeling process, designers will fully consider the usage scenarios and ergonomic principles of the freshness box, ensuring that the product is not only aesthetically pleasing but also easy to use

Mold design is based on product design, and according to the process requirements of injection molding, the structure and components of the mold are designed. Mold design needs to consider multiple factors, such as the parting surface of the mold, pouring system, cooling system, demolding mechanism, etc. The selection of parting surface directly affects the quality of product molding and the difficulty of demolding. Designers will choose the most suitable parting surface based on the shape and size of the fresh-keeping box to ensure smooth demolding of the product after molding

(2) Material preparation and processing

After completing the preliminary design and planning, the next stage is material preparation and processing. This stage involves the selection and processing of mold materials, which directly affects the quality and service life of the mold. Common mold materials include P20, 718, etc. P20 is a pre hardened plastic mold steel with good processing and polishing properties, uniform hardness, and suitable for manufacturing plastic molds with general requirements. It has a relatively low price and is widely used in the manufacturing of some fresh-keeping box molds that do not have particularly high requirements for mold accuracy and lifespan. The material processing process includes multiple steps such as material preparation, mold frame processing, and mold core processing.

(3) Mold assembly and commissioning

Mold assembly is the process of assembling various processed mold components according to design requirements to form a complete mold. During the assembly process, it is necessary to strictly follow the assembly process to ensure the accurate installation position of each component. Mold debugging is the last crucial step in the mold manufacturing process, and its importance is self-evident. The purpose of debugging is to check whether the various performance indicators of the mold meet the requirements in actual working conditions. During the debugging process, the first step is to install the mold onto the injection molding machine and conduct preliminary debugging, including adjusting the parameters of the injection molding machine, such as injection pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, holding time, cooling time, etc. Then, a trial mold is conducted by injecting plastic melt into the mold cavity through an injection molding machine, observing the working condition of the mold and the quality of the product molding. If defects are found in the product, such as short shots, flying edges, shrinkage marks, deformation, etc., it is necessary to analyze the reasons in a timely manner and adjust the mold and injection molding process. Only molds that have undergone strict debugging can be delivered to customers for use, ensuring that customers can smoothly produce high-quality preservation box products during the production process.
