1. Core design points
1) Parting and slider structure design:
The thermometer shell often contains a multi-directional undercut structure, and a combination of a front mold slider (T-slot or bent pin drive) and a rear mold slider is required. For example, the boss and hook at the sensor head need to be designed with sliders in different areas, and the front mold tunnel slider can solve the need for no clip line on the appearance.
The parting surface needs to avoid the appearance surface. The gate is usually selected in the battery cover groove or hidden area. Point gate or diving injection is used to avoid affecting the appearance.
2. Precision core and cooling system:
Slender cores such as sensor installation holes (such as Φ1.6mm) need to use high wear-resistant steel (such as NAK80), and built-in copper cooling rods to improve heat dissipation efficiency and prevent deformation
The four corners of the mold core are designed with 5° tiger's mouth positioning, and the guide pin and guide sleeve are used to ensure the mold clamping accuracy ≤0.01mm
3. Hot runner and ejection optimization:
The hot runner system is recommended for multi-cavity molds to reduce waste and ensure melt uniformity.
The ejection mechanism needs to avoid scratching transparent parts. Z-shaped ejector and robot collaborative demolding are recommended
4. Material and process selection
1) Mold steel:
718H, S136 (strong corrosion resistance), NAK80 (high polishing) are preferred, and key inserts need vacuum quenching.
Medical-grade components must comply with ISO 13485 certification to ensure biocompatibility
2) Injection molding parameter control:
Use 90-700T injection molding machine, and the mold temperature controller accurately controls the temperature (water circulation or oil circulation) to reduce shrinkage and deformation.
The transparent shell requires a dust-free workshop (100,000-level cleanliness) to prevent impurities from affecting light transmittance
5. Technical difficulties and solutions
1) Sealing and waterproof design:
Problem: The battery cover groove and the sealing ring require a gap of ≤0.05mm, which is prone to leakage due to uneven shrinkage.
Solution: Split insert design, reserve mold repair margin, and monitor dimensional stability through SPC process control
2) Sensor positioning accuracy:
Problem: The metal temperature sensor head and the plastic part are easy to deviate.
Solution: Pre-embed the positioning pin in the mold, combined with the liquid silicone (LSR) secondary injection molding process to improve the bonding strength
3) Automated production adaptation
Problem: The efficiency of manual inspection of small transparent parts is low.
Solution: Integrate CCD vision system and robotic arm to realize automatic sorting and defect recognition
6. Mold runner system selection
There are mainly cold runner and hot runner options, which need to be selected according to the customer's budget and product design.
Cold runner system: cheap, product design requirements cannot be too high, there are raw material handles, and some feed ports require manual cutting
Hot runner system: expensive, product design can achieve the customer's effect, there is no raw material handle, saving raw materials

A: Mold Payment: 40% deposit by T/T in advance, 30% second mold payment before sending out the first trial samples, 30% mold balance after you agree the final samples.
B:Production Payment: 50% deposit in advance, 50% before sending out the final goods.
