The production of stethoscope injection molds needs to be combined with the precision, ergonomic design and biocompatibility requirements of medical equipment
1.Core design points
1) Parting and slider structure:
The stethoscope shell often contains multi-directional undercut structures (such as earplug head buckles, U-shaped pendant sound guide tubes), and a combination of front mold sliders (T-slots or hydraulic drives) and rear mold inclined tops is required. For example, the connection between the earplug head and the U-shaped pendant needs to be designed with sliders in different areas to ensure smooth demoulding and no clamping lines on the appearance. The parting surface needs to avoid the appearance surface, and the gate is usually selected in the hidden area (such as the battery cover slot or the inside of the pendant). Point gates or diving injection are used to avoid affecting the appearance and acoustic performance
2) Precision core and cooling system:
Slim structures such as sound guide holes (such as Φ1.5-2mm) need to use high wear-resistant steel (such as NAK80 or S136), and built-in copper cooling rods to improve heat dissipation efficiency and prevent deformation. The four corners of the mold core are designed with 5° jaw positioning to ensure the mold clamping accuracy ≤ 0.01mm.
Hot runner system is recommended for multi-cavity molds to reduce waste and ensure melt uniformity, especially suitable for injection molding of the connection parts of the sound guide hose
3) Ejection and automation adaptation
Transparent earplug heads need to avoid ejector scratches. Z-shaped ejectors and manipulators are recommended for collaborative demolding. Some manufacturers integrate visual positioning systems to achieve high-speed and stable production
2. Material and process selection
1) Mold steel and injection molding materials:
Mold steel is preferred to 718H, NAK80 (high polishability) or S136 (corrosion resistance), and key inserts need vacuum quenching. Injection molding materials must comply with ISO 13485 certification, such as medical-grade PC (good light transmittance) or ABS (strong impact resistance).
Transparent parts need to be produced in a Class 100,000 dust-free workshop to prevent impurities from affecting light transmittance and acoustic performance
2) Process parameter control
Use a 90-200T injection molding machine, and the mold temperature controller accurately controls the temperature (water circulation ±1°C) to reduce shrinkage and deformation. Liquid silicone (LSR) encapsulation technology is used to combine the sealing ring with the plastic part, which requires secondary injection molding and adhesion verification
3. Technical difficulties and solutions
1) One-piece molding of sound-conducting hollow tubes
Problem: The sound-conducting hollow tubes inside the U-shaped pendant need to be connected and burr-free. The traditional structure is prone to degradation of acoustic performance due to weld marks.
Solution: Use banana-shaped gate design + in-mold hot cutting technology to balance the melt flow path, and combine SPC process control to monitor the consistency of hollow tube size
2) Demolding of micro earplugs
Problem: The earplug head is small in size (about 8-10mm in diameter), and it is easy to tilt or break during demolding.
Solution: Optimize the ejector pin layout (conical ejector pin + gas-assisted demoulding), and design embedded positioning pins to assist the robot grip
3) Sealing verification
Problem: The connection between the stethoscope head and the sound guide hose requires a gap of ≤0.05mm, and uneven shrinkage can easily lead to air leakage.
Solution: The split insert design reserves mold repair margins, and the CCD detection system automatically identifies the matching gap

Q6. What is your payment terms?
A: Mold Payment: 40% deposit by T/T in advance, 30% second mold payment before sending out the first trial samples, 30% mold balance after you agree the final samples.
B:Production Payment: 50% deposit in advance, 50% before sending out the final goods.
